Old Royalists in Qatar

THE OLD ROYALISTS IN QATAR (ORQ) IS AN ALUMNI GROUP FOUNDED IN 2008 BY A FEW OLD ROYALISTS WORKING IN QATAR. WITH A START OF JUST OVER 10 INDIVIDUALS THIS GROUP HAS NOW GROWN TO OVER 120 MEMBERS AND IS ACTIVELY INVOLVED WITH ITS MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. ORQ IS ONE OF THE ROYAL COLLEGE UNION (RCU) AFFILIATED OVERSEAS OLD ROYALISTS GROUPS.

Battle of the Blues

“Battle of the Blues in Qatar” is the first ever Sri Lankan schools old boys’ big match in Qatar which unfolded in year 2009. Several prominent past cricketers of both schools featured in past encounters namely Dharshan Bodiyabaduge, Dammika Bulankulame, Suresh Bulankulame and Dilshan Gunawardana from St. Thomas College and Suranga Lokubalasooriya, Tharaka Kottahewa, Imal Liyanage from Royal College Colombo.

 

 

 

 “Battle of the Blues in Qatar

One of the main annual events of the ORQ calendar is the ‘Royal – Thomian, Qatar’ or the ‘Battle of the Blues- Qatar’. Which is a much awaited event for both Old Royalists and Old Thomians working in Qatar as it is a day for them to celebrate the special bond that they share.
